I love this app. Version 3.0 is nothing short of awesome. I use it all the time and I love that I can copy the colors for UIColor for Obj-C or Swift. Awesome! Thank you! I use this app all the time and the pro features work very well.
I’ve been using this ever since the first verison. Never disappoints. Simple.
Love the ease of use and design. My only issue with it is that there are sooooo many ouput options it can be a chore to find the correct one and at times the knowing the code that will be inserted is tricky. Overall a great app and just keeps getting better.
A color picker that samples any color on screen and converts it to CSS values? Yes. Option to format how those copied values are presented? Yes. Copies your values to your clipboard so you can easily paste it into your editor of choice? Yes. Ability to set magnifier size and zoom level? Yes. This app is great and I’m going to purchase the Pro version because it’s perfect. Highly reccommended.
Sip is my “Goto” for all my color needs. I upgraded to Pro and am super happy I did.. It saves all my palettes, allows easy to use features. You can’t go wrong with this App!!
This app is perfect. I have been looking for something like it for a while, and it fits all my needs perfectly. Runs quietly in the background, sits at the top until I want it. Saves a list of the colors I’ve picked, and best of all, it’s free! You can’t go wrong with this app.
Im a a web developer and this app has been very helpful for me when im creating the css files.
It isn’t often that a utility makes its way into my minute-to-minute workflow when designing apps. Sip took about 0.4 seconds to cement itself in my workflow. Great job Olá bros!
I’ll love it even more (and pay for pro! ) if you also add a ruler to measure distances...
Sip is hands-down the most beautiful and refined color picker out there in a very crowded market. The “Pro” features are incredible – I’ve never had so much fun playing with colors in my life than when I found the color-mixer tool. If you work with colors at all, you need this app. It’s as simple as that. To the developers: Keep up the great work!
First off, I appreciate the work and inspiration that went into making this. For me, however, this software’s performance and bloat got in the way of the fundamental problem it is attempting to solve - to provide a useful set of productivity features on top of a color picker. My Mid 2013 MacBook Air isn’t a beast, but there is no excuse for the delay between using the keyboard shortcut to open the color picker and the point at which the color picker actually opens. This is certainly an issue with Sip (or possibly whatever OS X API it is using). By comparison, applications like Alfred open instantly when using the keyboard shortcut, providing a fast and unintrusive user experience. On a positive note, the Adobe CS integration and plethora of color formats does give this potential. But until Sip performs as fast as you would expect for a tool of its nature, I’m fine just using OS Xs Digitial Color Meter and Shift+Command+C.
Just purchased the Pro version. It doesn’t sync between my iMac and Macbook. I’m not able to change the palette names. Nice app but needs improvement.
This is a must-have for all developer and designers. So beautiful. So simple. Love it.
I have used this app constantly every day for over a year and couldn’t imagine life without it. Most color picker products out there are clunky to access and target one use case, but Sip makes working with colors seamless across my entire work flow. To top it off, the app is beautifully designed!
The shortcuts make this menubar app so easy to grab hexcodes. Exactly what I want!
I’ve been a Sip Pro user for a while now. It’s proved easy to use, and I’ve enjoyed being able to sync palettes across Macs and iOS devices. Version 4 adds some pretty useful features. Specifically, the color dock is great. It occupies a small space (pinned) on the right or left side of your screen, and contains recent color palettes. You can choose how many. If you don’t like the dock, you can choose not to display it at all. Though, if you Sip a lot, you’ll probably choose to keep the pinned dock. I noticed a coupld quirks during upgrade. They weren’t a big deal, and don’t affect my review. I use Sip on two Macs, and the issues were easily colvable on both: in exactly the same way. This may help some of you, if you see the same behavior: <> Sip Pro users lose Sip Pro 1. When prompted, select the option to “Restore Purchases”. 2. Enter your iTunes password. 3. Done. <> Your color palettes don’t sync 1. Enter Sip’s preferences. You’ll see two of each menu icon across the top of the application. Quit Sip. 2. Relaunch Sip. 3. Enter Sip’s preferences. You’ll now see one of each menu icon accross the top of the application. Good. 4. Log into your Sip account. 5. Done. Your color should Sync. Mine did.
Previously, I only used Sip for its excellent color magnifier to quickly grab colors from the web, but the latest update has been a game changer in my design workflow. The Pro version’s Color Dock allows me to completely replace my existing swatch libraries in Illustrator and more recent color palettes in Adobe’s clunky CC Library by making selected color palettes readily available across all applications. The amount of hotkey shortcuts and color formats available make this app highly customizable and I see it dramatically speeding up the basics of development on all my projects. Suggestion: It would be nice to see the Color Dock function more like the OS X dock where it can be completely hidden off screen until you move the mouse to the edge of the screen.
I know that the freemium business model stills concerns some people. But of course it does when some developers waste your time with the free version that doesn’t even give you a taste for the app’s functionality. However, Sip is not like those. I haven’t found the need to buy the In App Purchase, personally. It does have some features that interest me; but I’ve been using and enjoying the “non-pro” version (free version) for probably a year now. It’s a great part of my workflow. Really, I can’t believe it’s free. I love it and I recommend it. And you only get “bothered” (informed) with the offer to upgrade to Pro when you install or reinstall/update the app. So, maybe once every few months. I think it’s great and I hope this app continues to do well. A side note: I do have a problem with In App Purchases just because they dont work with Family Sharing. This is on Apple though. In my opinon, there should probably be two types of IAPs—non-shareable, non-restorable purchases for things like coins/lives in games and whatnot. And second, family-shareable/restorable purchases for things like pro upgrades and the like.
Does just what I need in an elegant and straightforward way - grabs the exact color from a photo, website, logo… or whatever! Works great in 10.11 El Capitan, a great complement to Adobe CC suite (should probably be part of that suite, Adobe you should buy these guys for millions). Kudos for a great app!
