Great 4.0 Update!
I’ve been a Sip Pro user for a while now. It’s proved easy to use, and I’ve enjoyed being able to sync palettes across Macs and iOS devices. Version 4 adds some pretty useful features.
Specifically, the color dock is great. It occupies a small space (pinned) on the right or left side of your screen, and contains recent color palettes. You can choose how many. If you don’t like the dock, you can choose not to display it at all. Though, if you Sip a lot, you’ll probably choose to keep the pinned dock.
I noticed a coupld quirks during upgrade. They weren’t a big deal, and don’t affect my review. I use Sip on two Macs, and the issues were easily colvable on both: in exactly the same way. This may help some of you, if you see the same behavior:
<> Sip Pro users lose Sip Pro
1. When prompted, select the option to “Restore Purchases”.
2. Enter your iTunes password.
3. Done.
<> Your color palettes don’t sync
1. Enter Sip’s preferences. You’ll see two of each menu icon across the top of the application. Quit Sip.
2. Relaunch Sip.
3. Enter Sip’s preferences. You’ll now see one of each menu icon accross the top of the application. Good.
4. Log into your Sip account.
5. Done. Your color should Sync. Mine did.
