Slows Down Your Workflow
First off, I appreciate the work and inspiration that went into making this. For me, however, this software’s performance and bloat got in the way of the fundamental problem it is attempting to solve - to provide a useful set of productivity features on top of a color picker.
My Mid 2013 MacBook Air isn’t a beast, but there is no excuse for the delay between using the keyboard shortcut to open the color picker and the point at which the color picker actually opens. This is certainly an issue with Sip (or possibly whatever OS X API it is using). By comparison, applications like Alfred open instantly when using the keyboard shortcut, providing a fast and unintrusive user experience.
On a positive note, the Adobe CS integration and plethora of color formats does give this potential. But until Sip performs as fast as you would expect for a tool of its nature, I’m fine just using OS Xs Digitial Color Meter and Shift+Command+C.
